The California Association Medical Staff Services (CAMSS) awards the Mindel Spiegel Scholarship annually to one (1) member per Region, at the discretion of the Board of Directors based on the receipt of applications from qualified applicants.
Those CAMSS members who are currently employed in the healthcare field with a stated interest in medical staff services are eligible to apply.
In order to be considered, the candidate must submit a completed Mindel Spiegel Scholarship Application. An application is considered complete when the form and all required supporting documents have been received, as follows:
1. Description materials relating to the current or planned education activity for which the Award is being sought. This material must contain information about the cost of the activity;
2. A personal, 500 word, typewritten statement about past, present, and planned contributions to the medical staff services profession with a brief review of how the participation in the planned education activity will be of benefit to the applicant both professionally and personally;
3. Proof of enrollment for payment directly to member (awards for attendance at CAMSS Annual Education Forum or Bonus Days will be paid directly to CAMSS and notice of registration will be provided to awardees). Note: Proof of completion of course, program, certification, attendance must be provided to Education Chair by December 31st of award year (see policy)
