JOB SUMAMRY

Assist the Department’s Manger in the coordination of Medical Staff activities. Responsible for providing the support and oversight necessary to maintain the efficient operation of the CME Program, such as maintaining committee and/or CME Schedules. Oversees and provides administrative support to the Medical Staff proctorship program. Performs credentialing functions (including but not limited to initial applications, temporary/additional privileges, reappointments, proctoring, credentials reporting, resignations and LOA’s) on an as needed basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Certifications:

*High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college or business school desired.Two (2) years’ experience as a *Medical Staff Credentialer / Coordinator required, preferably in an acute hospital setting.
*Five (5) years of experience in an executive administrative support capacity preferred.
*Minute taking experience is required.
*Must understand the Medical Staff organizational structure and have a working knowledge of credentialing, peer review, and proctoring.  
*A valid Certificate as a Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) or Certified Professional Credentials Specialist (CPCS) Issued by Nat’l. Assoc. Medical Staff Services is preferred upon hire.

*Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
*Ability to work under stressful conditions and deadline situations.
*Must have and be able to consistently exhibit excellent independent decision making and problem solving skills
*Ability to effectively compose letters/memorandums/documents
*Ability to adequately adapt to flexible work schedules, such as attending early morning, evening, and weekend meetings.
*Ability to effectively prioritize and achieve goals.
*Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
*Must be competent with database management and report writing.
*Must possess current knowledge of regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards including the Joint Commission (TJC), IMQ/CMA, Federal (CMS), and State (Title 22).
