Summary:


This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of credentialing procedures required by the Medical Staff Bylaws, State and federal laws, and hospital accreditation and NCQA standards.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to: credentialing and re-credentialing practitioners, physician data management, and preparation of policies and procedures to meet licensing standards. In addition, the Medical Staff Coordinator/ Administrative Analyst is responsible for coordination of administrative functions to support the Medical Staff department, including coordination of medical staff meetings. The Medical Staff Coordinator/ Administrative Analyst prepares a variety of documents using a number of databases, graphics, spreadsheets, and word processing software applications.

 
Required Qualifications:


Must be CPMSM and/or CPCS certification eligible; certified CPMSM and/or CPCS within 12 months of employment; working knowledge of MS Office products; knowledge of JCAHO, Title 22 and CMA regulations; ability to coordinate and resolve issues in a timely manner; demonstrated understanding of medical terminology; and strong analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills.

Certification as CPMSM and/or CPCS is preferred.
