Credentials Specialist
Highland Hospital – Oakland, CA

Under the direction of the Director, Medical Staff Services, you will perform credentialing functions pertaining to Medical Staff and Allied Health Practitioners as set forth in The Joint Commission (TJC), State Regulations and CMS Regulations. You will be required to have a high level of organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with customers and associates. You should be accustomed to detailed and repetitive tasks as well as perform related duties as required.

Qualifications include:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED, plus AA/AS degree from a two-year college
  • Minimum Experience: Three to five years credentialing experience in an acute care hospital, must be able to work in a labor / management partnership.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services as a Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). If not certified at the time of hire, certification must be obtained within two (2) years for CPSC, and/or four (4) years for CMSC depending on experience and satisfying of National Association of Medical Staff Services educational requirements.
