JOB SUMMARY
The credentialing manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Credentials Team. Provide direct supervision and coordination for the team with implementation of new contracts and the ongoing maintenance of credentials for all Physicians and Allied Health Professionals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to…
- Review and audit work assignments of the Credentials Team in order to monitor the quality, timeliness, and productivity of work. Oversee the collection and verification of essential credentials and submission for approval to credentials committee for completion of initial credentialing and recredentialing
- Lead the credentialing team in new contract start-up operations, ensuring compliance with hospital privileging requirements and state regulations
- Perform data management and reporting from credentials database and ancillary systems. Generate and present ideas for improvement
- Keep current with NCQA and Joint Commission requirements
- Attend pertinent internal and external meetings. Interface with appropriate MedAmerica and client leadership to provide support with credentialing requests and issues
- Engage in teamwork functions supporting and cooperating with team members to achieve individual and team goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in medical or related field with a thorough understanding of credentialing
- Minimum 2 years supervision or management experience with experience overseeing a department with a multiple staff members
- Proven ability to communicate with Executives, Legal Counsel, and Hospital Administrators to attain desired results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
